The TGA warned Australians to discard Synedica peptide products after testing found no detectable TB-500 and less retatrutide than labelled.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) issued a warning on 6 November 2026 about Synedica-branded injectable products after testing found they did not contain what their labels claimed. The Herald Sun reported the warning the same day.
Three products — Synedica BPC 157 & TB 500 10 mg, Synedica KLOW 80 mg and Synedica BARBIE KLOW 100 mg — contained no detectable TB-500 despite claiming to. Products also labelled as containing retatrutide, an unapproved GLP-1 drug still in clinical trials, held less than the stated 10 mg, varying significantly between individual pens tested.
TGA chief medical adviser Professor Robyn Langham said: "Not only is there a serious risk of a major allergic response, including anaphylaxis, but, when a product does not contain what the label says, consumers can simply not know what is in the substance they are injecting."
TGA head Chris Bedford said the "growing unlawful supply and promotion of unapproved peptide products is a serious concern" and that the TGA would "continue to work with law enforcement and other partners to identify and disrupt unlawful activity".
The tested products came from a NSW police operation. The Herald Sun reports they were also available for purchase across Australia. The warning follows a Victorian coroner's finding on Richard Norton's death and an ongoing TGA review of peptides.
The TGA says: do not use the products and speak to a health professional if you have concerns.
