A coenzyme found in every living cell, central to energy metabolism and DNA repair research.
A mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide studied for its affinity for cardiolipin.
A 16-amino-acid peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA, studied in metabolic research.
Mitochondrial research is where some of the more genuinely novel peptide biology sits. MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide — encoded in mitochondrial DNA rather than nuclear DNA, which was a notable finding in itself — and is studied in relation to metabolic homeostasis and AMPK signalling.
SS-31 (elamipretide) works differently again: it targets cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane, and the research interest concerns membrane structure and electron transport efficiency rather than a signalling cascade. It has progressed further through formal clinical development than most compounds in our catalogue.
NAD+ is included here as a cofactor central to mitochondrial redox reactions rather than as a peptide. It is supplied at 100mg per vial. All three are manufactured at our Australian facility and independently third-party tested for purity, identity and endotoxin before dispatch.
